Where production and performance meet

8 Apart Collective

Production, performance, creative practice, and education across theatre, film, events, and live projects

Who We Are

8 Apart Collective was founded by Glycel Abatol and Suilynez Quiñones Reyes as a way to represent the work we do and the experience we bring into creative projects. The collective brings our skills, backgrounds, and practice together under one name, allowing productions, institutions, and organizations to work with us directly.

We work across performance and production, including stage management, show calling, creative support, teaching, choreography, and live performance. Our work moves across theatre, film, events, festivals, and educational settings, adapting to the needs of each project rather than following a fixed format.

At its core, 8 Apart Collective represents talent in practice. When a project hires us, they are working with experienced professionals who step directly into the process—whether managing a production, performing, or contributing creatively within a team. We move between disciplines as needed, staying close to the work and responding with flexibility, collaboration, and care.

What We Do

Production & Stage Management

We provide production teams across theatre, film, events, and live projects with experienced professionals who step directly into roles within the production. Our work includes stage management, assistant and deputy stage management, show calling, production coordination, event coordination, and production assistance. We are hired as part of the working team, contributing to the organization, communication, and smooth running of a project from preparation through execution.

Performance & Creative Practice

We provide performance and creative work across live performance and dance-based projects. This includes performing, choreography, and creative collaboration within productions and events. We work as part of the creative process itself, adapting to different formats and environments while remaining closely connected to the work on the ground.

Education & Mentorship

We provide education-based work for schools, institutions, and independent projects. This includes teaching dance, leading workshops, and mentoring in areas such as stage management and production practice. Our approach is practical and experience-led, focused on sharing real working knowledge within creative environments.
